Resolved Question: Need to know if this amount of driving is possible/safe for an "amateur" driver.?

I've had my license for close to a year, been driving for two and a half years. For my spring break this year i intend to take a trip from West Point, NY to Sanford, NC (about 580 mi.) spend a few days in Sanford and then travel from Sanford to Muncie, IN (about 610 mi.) spend a few days there and then head back to West Point at the end of the week (about 685 mi.). Over all the trip will take about 33 hours of driving split up roughly equally between the three legs of the trip. Would it be safe to drive the distances each in one day? or would it be better to stop at a motel halfway through each of the trips? Whats your input? The schedule would look something like this: Saturday: Departure between 0700 and 0900, arrival in Sanford between 1900 and 2000. Sunday-Tuesday: Stay in Sanford, NC Wednesday: Departure between 0700 and 0900, arrival in Muncie between 1900 and 2000. Thursday-Saturday: Stay in Muncie, IN Sunday: Drive back to West Point What I'm asking is if it would be better to break the 10-11 hour legs into two 5-6 sections per leg?... Read More »
