I'm very interested in my heritage, and have subscribed to ancestry.com. I would like to acquire some pictures of my family, and was wondering if anyone knew how to go about doing that or could send some pictures to me of the following family members. The first one is Edward J. Sanford, who was born in 1868 and died in 1927. He was a politician of some sort, (I THINK a senator) for the state of California. Ukiah specifically. According to family stories, he was murdered by a farmhand on his property. He had five children, Sydney, Mary, Hazel, Edward, and Marguerite. His wife was named Mary, but she went by Kay. Hopefully this information can help you find a picture of him. The second person I would like to see a picture of is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather. He was born in 1774 and died in 1865. I heard that his mother died, so his father remarried. He did not get along with his stepmother, and his father beat him. Finally deciding to run away, Linus stowed away on a ship, but was discovered. He was forced to work off his passage, and was dumped off on the coast of NC/SC and made his way to Lincoln county, NC and then Haywood County, NC. I also heard a story where he was a corporal, and assisted Andrew Jackson in the Creek War. I have TRIED google, and Ancestry.com does not have any pictures of these two. Please assist me if you can - I would appreciate it very much!... Read More »
